Wednesday Evening Prayer and Bible Study
Wednesday Evening Prayer was exciting this past week but it can be even better with you there. And, then, we look forward to you staying to enjoy Bible Study! God's Word says, "In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace" (Ephesians 1:7). With that in mind, let's imagine ourselves sitting in a courtroom and on the other side of the courtroom is a man who had been caught red-handed stealing a large amount of money from us, or God-forbid maybe having killed someone that we really loved. Now imagine, after a lengthy the trial is over, the judge say's "Not guilty"! What! This person that has disrupted our life for so many months, stolen from us, or even taken away someone that we loved very much, and he has gotten away with the crive freely. Obviously we would be very upset and we would feel that the court case wasn't handled just ly, right?

When We Are in the Hot Seat
Now let's turn this situation around and say that you were the one that had stolen from someone or that it was you who had committed murder and the judge sets you free. Now, how would you feel then? You would probably be happy that you would not have to serve any time in jail or you would most likely be relieved that you would not be put to death for the crimes that you have committed, wouldn't you? Before you knew Jesus you were guilty of sin. You may have committed murder (or murdered someone else's character), fornicated (or looked at someone lustfully), lied, stolen, or committed any other acts against God. But even though you did not deserve it, God chose to redeem you (or, in other words, to buy you back) through the blood of His dear Son Jesus. Through propitiation (or, in other words, the full and entire payment) of Christ Jesus, God has completely forgiven you and called you innocent according to the riches of His grace. Isn't that great news? When you should have been found guilty and sentenced to an eternity in hell, God sent His Son Jesus to pay the price so that you would not have to. Join with me in thanking Jesus for dying and taking your place and mine, and in its place we are given to receive eternal life instead of eternal damnation! No that God has reedemed us through Jesus, let us go and spread this Good News to others that Jesus died for them also. Be blessed!
