As Christians, we are called upon by God to be good stewards of what his has provided for us, (see Genesis 15:2;43:19; 1 Chronicles 28:1; Luke 8:3). Although we should never let money or the pursuit of money be our most important goal, the Bible is clear on the Christian's responsibility toward what God has given. This is seen in the Bible when Jesus taught the parable of the faithful steward described, (Luke 12:35-38,42), as contrasted with the unfaithful steward described (Luke 16:1-8). Again, it is seen in the Bible when Jesus taught investing of the pounds (Luke 19:12-27) and of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30. It is clear Christian teaching that we must be faithful with all that God has afforded us (1 Corinthians 4:1,2; Titus 1:7; 1 Peter 4:10).
